Q: What is the Spirit Quest Film Festival?

A: Spirit Quest is an International film festival that takes place in the town of Edinboro, Pennsylvania each year. The three day event features screenings, presentations by filmmakers and awards for the best films and screenplays in several categories. The focus is on films that reflect the best (and sometimes the worst) of the human experience. The next Spirit Quest Film Festival takes place April 15 - 17, 2011 on the campus of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, at the Frank G. Pogue Student Center.

Q: When did this thing start?

A: The Spirit Quest Film Festival was founded in 2009, by Greg Ropp (President of the Eerie Horror Film Festival) and his business associate Matthew Johnson.

Q: Are you accepting film and screenplay submissions for your 2012 season?

A: YES! the 2012 call for entries is now open! To enter your film project, click HERE. To enter your screenplay, click HERE.

Q: Is the Festival open to the public?

A: YES we are most certainly open to the public and we hope that aficionados of great indie cinema as well as our selected filmmakers make it out to our event in April!

Q: Does it cost anything to get in?

A: Yes, but only $5.00 per block of films and just $30.00 for the entire weekend! (Current Edinboro University students can attend free with valid ID). Tickets and Passes will be available for purchase at the Festival during operating hours.

Q: Do you have special admission prices for kids?

A: Admission is FREE for children 12 and under! However, children must be accompanied by an adult pass or ticket holder at all times.

Q: Is your event wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes! The film festival venue is wheelchair accessible!

Q: I'm coming in from out of town. What hotels do you recommend?

A: The Wooden Nickel Cloverleaf Motel is a small, family owned establishment that is perfect for those who just want the basics for their stay. Located just about a mile away from the Festival, they are offering a discount rate of $60.00 (single) - $75.00 (double). Call 814-734-1269 to reserve your room today. Be SURE you ask for the Spirit Quest discount when calling!There is also a Comfort Inn just off the I-79 exit (about two miles from our event). No discounted rooms there, but a nice establishment.

Q: Any words of advice for your visiting attendees?

A: Be sure you arrive to screenings early to get the best seats. No outside food or drink is to be brought in to the theater or vending areas. No smoking is allowed in the venue. Alcohol is prohibited entirely on the campus. All sales of passes and tickets are final and no refunds will be issued. Our staff will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
